Pheromone Kills, a drag performer from Edmonton AB, required some publicity photography and video content for promoting events and her appearance in the competition Alberta’s Next Drag Superstar. By mimicking familiar styling of a popular brand of fragrances (Calvin Klein) this video campaign was able to connect with the audience of LGBTQ folks; by parodying of a favourite brand in the community. The visual language of the ad includes slow dissolve/crosscuts, desaturated cinematography, and somber scenery such as a cemetary, pedestrian bridge, and a dried out bouquet of roses.
